There’s misery in store for Drivers this month with a series of roadworks taking place on the A725 East Kilbride Expressway during October.
Amongst the planned works is the much needed resurfacing work on the A725 between the EK Whirlies Roundabout and down to High Blantyre’s sliproad at Crossbasket at High Blantyre. Works at that location commence at 8pm on Saturday, October 17 and will run on through a series of overnight closures to the early morning of Saturday, 24 October 2020.
Darren Mitchell, Amey’s Senior Structural Maintenance Engineer said: “This is a busy section of trunk road connecting two of Lanarkshire’s largest towns. As such is used by emergency services, freight, retail and delivery traffic as part of their essential working. It is vital that we complete these works in order to maintain road safety.”
“Works will be carried out under a combination of weekend contraflow working and overnight closures, in order to reduce the impact on communities and businesses as they recover at this time.”
