What’s your thoughts on this?
This eight year old boy, along with other kids has been playing football in the courtyard area at Stonefield Public Park since he was two, but in recent weeks has faced cars driving quickly into the area, abruptly ending their fun.
Parking clearly prevents the kids playing. The post goes out more as a warning to drivers to take care and slow down. The height of the wall is close to the height of the kids and there is a risk here of not seeing a child. Not everybody speeds of course, but just generally to be mindful that there could be kids there.
Investigating further, we found that this playing area is now used as an overflow car park for the sports centre (staff car park), but is often also used by the skatepark families.
Any views on this area to hopefully make the area a little safer?
