Fancy a holiday? Perhaps some good news for those people who like holidays abroad.
UK tourists seeking winter sun have been given a boost, after Spain’s Canary Islands were added to the government’s safe travel list.
It means Scots can travel again to popular islands like Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuertaventura. However, the rest of Spain, including the Ibiza and Majorca, remain subject to quarantine restrictions amid a surge in infections.
With Covid restrictions likely to still be in place in Scotland at Christmas time and the government only today warning that Christmas will be different this year, the latest travel news could potentially trigger a surge in foreign holiday bookings.
