The law in Scotland is changing with Covid vaccine certificate enforcement starting from today.
With the lead in grace period now ended, from today Monday 18th October 2021, it means (if asked) you’ll need to show you have been double vaccinated to get into some higher risk venues and events.
People attending a range of late night venues like nightclubs and concerts and larger indoor and outdoor live events, such as music festivals or large sporting events including some football stadiums, will be required to show staff proof they are fully vaccinated or are otherwise exempt.
Proof of vaccination will be required to enter:
• late night venues open after midnight with alcohol and music and dancing
• unseated indoor live events, with more than 500 people in the audience
• unseated outdoor live events, with more than 4,000 people in the audience
• any event, of any nature, which has more than 10,000 people in attendance
Getting your Vaccine Certificate is quick and easy and can either be obtained as a paper copy, or easier still downloaded direct to the NHS Scotland Covid app, (which looks like the picture)
Local council officers will be responsible for enforcement of the certification scheme which is expected to last as a short term protective measure for everybody in this country.
