Indoor Hospitality Rules are back

Continuing a look at further restrictions announced this afternoon for Scotland. From 27 December, table service only will be reintroduced for venues serving alcohol for consumption on the premises.

The 1m social distancing also returns to indoor hospitality and leisure venues – between groups of people who are together.

There should be no more than three households represented in any group.

All of this will be in place for a three-week period.

The first minister’s statement confirmed that that the latest UK Government Treasury announcement “generated no further funding for Scotland” and so the Scottish Government has pledged a further £100m in support for the hospitality industry between now and the end of the financial year in March. That brings the total support fund to £375m. She adds that eligibility and guidance for the hospitality sector will be published on the Scottish government website today.

Today’s announcement advised that non-professional indoor contact sports for adults will be banned for three weeks from 26 December due to a heightened risk of Covid transmission.
