Local Blantyre volunteer and well known man, Barry Watt is spearheading a campaign to buy and install a further defibrillator in his Lanarkshire hometown.
The endeavour follows the sudden and sad passing of his father, 81 year old Robert Watt just before Christmas. Barry unfortunately found himself in the situation of having to administer CPR to his father as family members tried to obtain a defibrillator from the nearby area.
The family decided that rather than flowers for Robert’s funeral, they would fundraise for a lasting legacy for the Blantyre area.
A fundraiser page for a new Defibrillator has been set up https://www.gofundme.com/f/new-defibrillator-for-blantyre
which has already raised over £900 towards the £2,500 goal. The family welcome all supporting donations.
