Energy Bills to Skyrocket

Ofgem has today confirmed that millions of people will pay an average of an extra £693 a year on their energy bills from April, a shocking rise of 54%.

The new price limit means 18 million UK households in England, Wales and Scotland will typically pay £1,971 a year for gas and electricity, just under £60 a month MORE than they do now.

And if you’re on prepayment meters, there’s worse news. An estimated 4.5 million people are on these meters which will see an even bigger increase of £708 a year.

The changes are coming in April, and whilst you may be thinking you don’t use much energy in Summer months, its the Autumn and Winter which will hit households hardest.

Representatives from all political parties have asked the government to intervene and do more.
