David Livingstone Birthplace has embarked on a programme of updating their grounds.
Following a grant from South Lanarkshire of £400,000 work has started to improve the grounds commencing with creating better paths.
Additionally, plants and hedges have been planted around the Lion Statue, to deter vandalism and people climbing up. Of course it also softens the statue with some much needed greenery in the grounds.
We’ll be following the progress of the grounds in the coming months as more planting gets underway.
