New Action for Children Service

Tomorrow Blantyre Industrial Estate will host the opening of “Silverton South”, a new Action for Children Service.

The opening event will take place on Friday 17th June from 10:30am -12.00pm and will be attended by Depute Provost Bert Thomson, Liam Purdy chief social work officer SLC , and National Director Action for children Paul Carberry.

Action for Children have a bold and ambitious vision that every child and young person in the country should have a safe and happy childhood and the foundations they need to thrive. Silverton South will be the living embodiment of these values. The new service aims to provide local personalised care and support to young disabled people and their families and will be an important facility for the Blantyre and surrounding areas.

Silverton south will give young people the opportunity to form new friendships and try new experiences like riding a bike for the first time. Silverton South will empower young people to reach their full potential and thrive. For families, Silverton South will offer a break from their caring responsibilities, knowing that their child is in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.

Silverton South is located at Block 7, Unit A2, in the Blantyre industrial estate, G720XB.
