The annual Calderwood Drive street party was held in High Blantyre today, Sunday 31st July and everybody attending had a brilliant time!
With no main summer gala the last couple of years in Blantyre, residents of Calderwood Drive came up with a great initiate to host their own annual street party. Organised solely by the residents themselves, houses on either side of the street were decorated with bunting with the many of the residents taking part and for a few hours, a mini gala day was had on the street.
There were races and games out in the street for adults and kids alike, as well as a fun bouncy castle, donated by subscriptions from our Supporters Group. There were prizes for a couple of dozen kids and party games as well as lots of delicious food and refreshments.
The kids all had a fantastic time and it was a fitting end as the summer holidays approach an end. Residents want to thank everybody who donated, for all the support shown and for those who made the day possible.
