David Livingstone Birthplace Fun Day

An action packed, exciting day is planned for this Tuesday as David Livingstone Birthplace hosts their fantastic Family Fun day!

It’s on Tuesday 9th August 2022 from 11am until 3pm at the Birthplace Grounds, just off Station Road, The Village, Blantyre.

Join in with:

Egg and spoon races
Three legged races
Sack races
Tug of War
Volley Ball
Rounders
Table tennis
Lawn games

There’ll be FREE packed lunches for the children taking part in the games and races (with help from ASDA and Livingstone’s Cafe!).

Bring your stuffed animals along and join the Teddy Bear’s Picnic for lots of fun and games, then head to the pavilion for some teddy bear crafts.

There’ll also be face painting.

Take a ‘Garden Walk and Talk’ with our Gardening Volunteers, who’ll chat about what they’ve been up too and what plants can be found at David Livingstone Birthplace.

Plus, the local emergency services will be onsite so expect to see vintage appliances along with the up to the minute vehicles we see every day. The police will be there for bike marking, and fun activities!

Chat with Trading Standards about anything that has been worrying you – they are full of really useful information!

Most activities are free of charge!

Entry to the museum will be FREE for all children, accompanied by a paying adult.
