Message from Mosley family

Here’s a touching story to end the weekend with.

Blantyre man, David Mosley sadly passed away on October 18th and his funeral was held at St Joseph’s Blantyre last week on November 7th.

David’s family set up a Just Giving page to raise money for Diabetes UK in his memory. Since being diagnosed at the age of 13, David took living with diabetes in his stride. He regularly raised funds for Diabetes UK, as their vision for a world where diabetes can do no harm was a cause close to his heart. David’s Just Giving page has raised £6460 to date.

After the funeral service, the family shared memories at Blantyre Miners Welfare. David’s eleven year old son, Marcus was also keen to contribute to the fundraising for Diabetes UK, so decided to hold a bake sale at the Welfare. Marcus managed to raise over £800 for Diabetes UK in just a few hours by taking donations for his home made treats.

All of David’s family would like to thank Father Martin Delaney at St Joseph’s, the staff at Joseph Potts Funeral Directors, the staff at Blantyre Miners Welfare, all our friends and wider family for their support, and thanks to all those who donated.

Well done to Marcus. We’re all thinking of you and your family at this difficult time.
