As our Supporters group were reading recently, the planned takeover of Lloyds Pharmacy has now happened. As of Monday 10th July 2023, Lloyds Pharmacy will cease to trade under that name and instead will become ‘Rowlands (Numark) Pharmacy’.
For Blantyre, this affects the shops at Glasgow Road and at Hamilton Technology Park.
The takeover has short term implications and disruption is expected. Calderside Medical Practice have issued the following statement today, “Between 3rd and 8th July they will still collect scripts from us as normal but will NOT be preparing them in advance but will instead only make them up when patients call in to collect their item.”
This takeover will cause significant disruption over the month of July and as a result waiting times are likely to be longer. Other pharmacies nearby at Boots and Gilbrides have been made aware in advance in case their footfall rises.
