Drivers face the best part of another week of misery as roadworks continue on the East Kilbride Expressway.
The A725 Southbound coming off from Raith (heading towards East Kilbride) merges into just one lane, with the slow lane road closure near the Whistleberry slip road. Unfortunately, at times of peak traffic, this is causing major queues with traffic backed up to Bellshill, around the Raith roundabout and significant queues at each of the approaches to Raith from the exits on the M74.
Works by Transport Scotland commenced 4 days ago on 8th August with drivers telling us of lengthy delays, especially in rush hour. Work is necessary to facilitate carriageway patching and is expected to take until this Wednesday 16th August.
