It’s all change at the Livingstone’s Cafe at David Livingstone Birthplace this weekend, as current business owner Hazel Krawczyk moves on.
The administration and running of the Museum’s Cafe is changing hands this week, with Hazel’s last day at Livingstone’s tomorrow Sunday 10th September 2023.
Those customers who have been to the cafe will know how hard Hazel and her staff work and the success they’ve made it over the previous couple of years. It’s become a busy hub since opening in July 2021, a great meeting place and with a reputation for fantastic food.
Hazel who is from Blantyre, moves on to focus on other parts of her business including her Butterfly Bakery in Uddingston. On a statement online Hazel recently commented, “It’s been a great honour to establish such a community based cafe and welcome so many people through the doors. I won’t be far away just over the bridge if you want to say hello. It wouldn’t have been possible without the support from lots of people so to you I thank you ….and it’s not really good bye it’s see you later.”
We just want to say, good luck in your next chapter Hazel and thanks for everything.
Importantly, the cafe remains open and in business. After a few days temporarily closing this week to hand over to the new workforce, the cafe will be open again shortly under new management.

Sorry Hazel is going she and her staff made a great job of the cafe
