You may have read earlier in this week the inspiring story of brave local lad Daniel Dixon. Aged 20, Daniel was involved in a horrific bike accident in 2020 and subsequent spent 3 long years in Hairmyres Hospital but has now recently left!
Courtesy of our amazing Simm Endeavour award funding, today we were delighted to buy Daniel a £100 Christmas present. Our gift is with the family now.
Funds have now been transferred to Debbie, Daniel’s mother who told us, “We’re in the process of getting Dan new clothes. After his accident, we cut his t-shirts at the back to make it easier to put them on (like a hospital gown) Now he no longer has the tracheostomy, he’s getting new ‘normal’ clothes. We will put this to that cause. Thank you so much.”
Daniel who is now in a new, state of the art unit has settled in great. Simple things like enough staff to shower him every other day. Safe to say he is in great hands and the family are all delighted with the move. Wishing them all, especially Daniel, a very merry Christmas!
