Local Business Festive Event

Several local businesses based at Glasgow Road, Blantyre have come up with a fantastic initiative to help local families this festive season.

The Stonefield Tavern, together with Nicola’s Salon and Agnew’s Cafe will be hosting a very festive, special Christmas treat day for local families in need of a little extra help.

The event takes place on this Saturday 9th December at each of those locations.

At 9am, Nicola’s Salon will be opened for business with 4 staff members attending to haircuts and styling of any visiting children. At the same time, Agnews are offering the children a full, hearty breakfast.

Nearby, in the Stonefield Tavern, there will be a Santa Claus with Elf Helpers with each of the kids receiving a goodie bag. Incredibly, the regulars of the pub and their friends have raised a whopping £4,000 to cover costs, a figure still rising.

As well as the above, the money raised will be buying warm jackets, trainers, PJs, Toys and Sweets.

Stan Gordon, owner of the Stonefield Tavern told us, “If you know of any families who would benefit by bringing along their kids, please get in touch with me either by messenger or here at the pub.”

“I can’t thank our community enough for their support. Most of us take Christmas for granted and forget that there are families maybe not as lucky as others. If we can put a smile on a child’s face for a few hours it will be well worth it! How can you help? Well, if you have any donations money ,toys ,selection boxes, there’s still time this week to drop into the pub”

Well done to everybody who has donated and to the organisers!
