LIDL Blantyre saw its doors close yesterday, Saturday 16th March at 6pm, for the foreseeable future.
Shelves were empty, stock run down ahead of the closure, which will soon see the store being demolished.
LIDL is being rebuilt on a similar footprint, a state of the art supermarket worthy of the 2020s. Staff jobs are safe with staff deployed to other stores. The new store, which will have a frontage facing out to Glasgow Road, should be open in Springtime 2025.
