We’ve received numerous messages over the last couple of weeks, asking to post about the 50% price increase from £80 to £120 for Activage.
Activage is an exclusive membership for South Lanarkshire residents aged 60+.
The price increase was unexpected rising a whopping 50% despite South Lanarkshire Council promoting and encouraging older people to keep fit. Membership provides access to indoor leisure facilities. Plus, you can enjoy extra perks like ice skating, playing golf, library activities, receiving discount at cultural events and more.
Those who messaged are shocked and angry, but we’ve seen on other websites, people commenting that at £10 / month, it still represents good value.
Being physically active is of course good for our mind and body. It also gets us out, into the community, socialising with others and generally making the most of life. According to health professionals, to be as healthy as possible older adults are recommended to have 150 minutes of moderate activity each week.
Have YOU been affected by the price increase? Have your say.

Time to renew my Activage pass and just found out about the price increase. This is outragous!
North Lanarkshires over 60 pass price is only £60. How can SL justify the difference in price?
