Well, what an epic sight last night was! It was a photographers dream after 11pm as the night sky lit up over the UK, including Central Scotland in what is being reported as one of the strongest aurora storms since 1932.
The northern lights were visible with the naked eye throughout the UK colouring the sky in dancing shades of purple, green, yellow and red. Here’s some photos taken over Blantyre and Auchenitbber.
The extreme geomagnetic storm that happened on Friday was classed as the highest G5. Storms of this scale could potentially impact infrastructure, including satellites and the power grid, the NOAA warned.
If you missed our advance post yesterday and didn’t get a chance to see them, or haven’t ever seen Northern Lights, not to worry, there’s a significant possibility of seeing them again tonight, though just not as strong as last night.
Blantyre looked absolutely incredible last night. Let’s see your photos!
