Attention dog walkers. Be careful if you’re down at Redlees Urban Park, just off Blantyreferme Road. There’s a lot of broken glass lying around and sadly pets have been injured.
The location we’re referring to is at the Blantyreferme AA Gunsite / old army barracks.
A local resident was out walking with their 4 year old staff and unfortunately he has badly cut his paw. The dog is now in the emergency vet hospital under general anaesthetic having surgery. The wound is needing flushed out, cleaned and stitched and is going to cost a minimum of £800.
The resident told us, “We wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else’s dog. They’ve said that it’s severed his tendon and was so deep that they couldn’t even get the full way into it, it’s going to take a while to heal, and it may not completely do so. He could be left walking awkwardly.”
We hope this poor dog makes a speedy recovery.
