The much anticipated annual Strathaven Balloon Festival has been cancelled at fairly short notice, as the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto continue to hit Scotland.
The popular Lanarkshire festival which was due to celebrate 25 years, was expected to take place this weekend, from Friday 23rd August to Sunday 25th. Many people from Blantyre get involved in this, displaying goods at the market and so we hope they are not too inconvenienced.
Organisers have made the decision on the grounds of safety, due to concerns for those taking part as heavy rain and wind is forecast.
