Fundraising to August 24

August is nearly done and the totals are in for fundraising here at Blantyre Telegraph. We’ve been so pleased to help more people in the community! As always, it’s YOU who’s made it happen. We’re delighted to announce a very decent £335 was raised for local good causes!

Added to our overall fundraising total to date, it means Blantyre Telegraph (and its readers) have now raised a whopping £53,254 supporting 311 local good causes since the page started in 2011!

£242 was raised by the kind members of our supporters group, £25 in very kind private donations and £68 in book sales.

Several excellent donations were therefore possible BACK to local good causes. £200 donated to Cambuslang Rangers for sponsoring Blantyre goalkeeper Ryan Burns, £75 to Melanie Hutchison for vouchers following a horrific attack at the Calder and £60 to buy Scott McFadyen’s mother a new fire pit after it was stolen from her Blantyre garden.

As always, not one penny is retained by us! All awards were notified at the time on our Supporters Group page. Our website has been updated with donation and award records, in the interests of full transparency here. https://theblantyretelegraph.com/raised/

As Blantyre Telegraph grows from strength to strength, we thank you for your continued interest and overwhelming support, making this possible. Supporters Subscriptions have already been going out to local causes and we’re currently discussing several options with organisations and individuals.

However, together we can do SO MUCH MORE! YOU can make that happen.
