Spider Season is here

Time to turn away if you don’t like spiders. Not what many people want to hear, but with Autumnal months upon us, Spider Season is here!

As the heating gets switched back on cooler evenings, house spiders are coming out from their hiding places. The weeks around September is annual mating season.Ā The spiders that you see stuck in the bath tub or up on cornicing are usually males, who leave their webs hidden in the home to go out on the prowl looking for a female partner to mate with.

Spiders live in cracks, behind furniture, and they’re a particular fan of skirting boards – basically all of the places where they can get to but that we can’t really see.

Experts say there is typically one dominant spider in every household room during September or October. Seen any yet?
