Ireland Alloys (IAL), a leading name in the recycling of complex metal alloys and superalloys, is proud to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
Founded on 2nd September, 1964 by Charles Ireland, the company has grown to become one of Europe’s largest and most respected recyclers, serving industries including aerospace, power generation, and petrochemical sectors across the globe. Since 2014, Ireland Alloys has been part of the Jacob Metal Group, a defining moment in the company’s history, further expanding its capabilities and market reach.
To mark this significant milestone, Ireland Alloys is pleased to announce the completion of a series of major investments designed to enhance its operational capacity and ensure continued growth in a highly competitive global market.
One of the key projects is the new replacement roof and plant electrical upgrade, a £2.4 million investment. The roof replacement has already been successfully completed, and the electrical upgrade is set to be finalised by early 2025, ensuring state-of-the-art infrastructure to support the company’s expanding operations.
In addition, a new full turnings processing line, representing a further £1.8 million investment, is scheduled for installation and will be fully operational by February 2025. This new line will significantly enhance Ireland Alloys’ ability and capacity to process complex metal turnings, reinforcing its position as a global leader in the recycling of high-value materials.
In the last financial year, Ireland Alloys reported a turnover of £52 million, proof of the company’s robust performance and its commitment to delivering exceptional value to its clients. These investments not only demonstrate Ireland Alloys’ dedication to maintaining its high standards of quality and sustainability but also position the company for continued success in both existing and new global markets.
Stuart Douglas, Managing Director of Ireland Alloys, commented on the milestone, saying: “Celebrating 60 years in business is a tremendous achievement for any company, and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. Our recent investments underscore our commitment to growth, innovation, and sustainability. As we look to the future, we are excited about the opportunities to expand our presence in the global market, continuing to build on the trusted relationships we have established over the past six decades and working closely with the wider Jacob Metal Group.”
As Ireland Alloys looks ahead to the future, the foundation of its success remains the same: a relentless focus on delivering quality, fostering long-standing and trusted relationships with customers, supplier and business partners, and a commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
