One story we loved seeing this week was home grown High Blantyre butchers, D&J Rodger among the winners at the Scottish Craft Butchers event.
Neil and Cara Rodger of Blantyre butcher D&J Rodger are pictured with their gold award for their nationally acclaimed beef slice sausage at the Scottish Craft Butchers product evaluation.
The business saw off competition of over 140 others when expert industry judges sampled all entries at Forth Valley College.
Scottish Craft Butchers president George Jarron said: “It isn’t until you pitch products against others that you find out just how good they really are.
“To win awards in this evaluation is a great honour for the recipients because the standards are high, and by highlighting the best available, this serves as an important signpost for sliced sausage lovers on the quest for the best.”
