A Poem for Tam

Catherine Davner like many of us was so saddened to read of the death of Tam Dale, a local man from the Village, Blantyre, that she penned this poem about a dog so faithful to Tam….as a tribute. Worth sharing here:

He waited by the Bridge,
But to no avail,
Looking for the man called Tam Dale,
Every day at 5pm, you would see him standing at the old village gates.
Looking for his mate.

No human could be so loyal, this creature was a star,
Oh look there he goes running alongside Tam’s Car,
Right down the hill and around the corner.
The bond between Tam and his dog could not be stronger.
Rena Goodnight Thomas Sleep tight.
