Space X Test Flight 5

World news next. For those interested, Spaceflight company, ‘Space X’ have scheduled their 5th launch test early this afternoon, Sunday 13th October 2024.

Taking off from Boca Chica, Texas, the test vehicle ‘Starship’ will head to orbit and attempt re-entry to add to the previous progress made on earlier flights. The large booster section will return to Earth, but this time a world first is being attempted, in the rocket booster will return to the exact point it took off from. However, Space X on this flight will be attempting probably the craziest aerospace thing ever attempted today — actually catching the 19-story tall rocket booster in mid-air …..with Mechazilla chopsticks!

Starship is the largest and by far the most powerful space vehicle ever built.

Space X have contracts in place with Nasa to continue developing and eventually use Starship to return to the moon and onward to Mars, something with Space X owner Elon Musk believes will happen within 5 years.

This comes in the week when Musk has revealed the launch of fully self driving cars for under $30,000 will happen in 2026.
