Some significant progress at the new Blantyre LIDL store being built at the Whistleberry Roundabout at Glasgow Road.
The new tall windows have been constructed and store entrance is taking shape. The windows are long and create a different kind of frontage on the Glasgow Road side to what was previously there. The grey cladding band at the top of the store, which is otherwise clad in white, still has to be completed. At the corner of the building, a new store entrance is now visible again with glass frontage, with customers entering the building at a different location than the previous store. The vehicle entrance however, will remain the same.
Our photo taken yesterday gives a good idea of how the scale and aesthetics of the store is going to look if you’re driving by on Glasgow Road.
As the finishing touches to the outside are put in place in the coming weeks, attention will then turn towards a quick internal fit out, and all being well the store will open early in 2025.
