M74 Crash Update

Police Scotland have confirmed several people have been taken to hospital after a five-vehicle crash on the M74 near Motherwell.

Emergency crews were called to junction five at the Raith interchange at 08:50am earlier this morning Thursday 31st October. Two northbound lanes were closed until about 11:00am, with widespread disruption and tailbacks for drivers.

Police Scotland said the people involved were taken to hospital as a precaution. The Scottish Ambulance Service have confirmed that two patients were transported to Wishaw General Hospital and one was taken to University Hospital Hairmyres. We hope they have a speedy recovery.
