It is with sadness we learned of the passing of local man William (Billy) McKinlay.
Billy was the youngest of famous speedway star, Ken McKinlay. His sister Ishbel, who lives in Canada told Blantyre Telegraph, “My darling younger brother Billy passed away, totally unexpected from a heart attack on 12th October 2024”
“We were totally devastated and utterly heartbroken to get this news and flew to Scotland for his cremation which took place on 29th October.”
Ishbel continued, “Billy was not only my youngest brother, he was the ‘baby’ of our family, my best friend and my confidante and I his. His passing has left a humungous hole in my heart. I loved him so very, very much. Originally 8 sisters and brothers, the family is again a little bit smaller.”
Our sympathies go out to the entire family at this sad time.
R.I.P. Billy. You will be missed dearly.
