Remembrance Services & Wreaths

With so many of Telegraph’s followers in different places throughout the world and outwith Blantyre, each year we get messages saying what can be done to include them in Blantyre’s remembrance events.

As always, Blantyre Telegraph with the kind help of our amazing Supporters Group have arranged for hand crafted remembrance wreaths bought on behalf of the whole community. These beautiful wreaths were recently purchased from ‘Bitta Bling’ on Stonefield Road, supporting local business. Admittedly, owner Cath tried her absolute best not to take any money for these, but having the budget already there, we wouldn’t hear of it!

These will shortly be placed at the War Memorial in High Blantyre Cemetery and at Auchentibber War Memorial, with the sentiment that on this remembrance day, they are from all 26,331 of Blantyre Telegraph followers, regardless of where you are in the World. We’ll also have photos of the services later this afternoon.

Meantime, if you would like to attend one of the TWO services taking place this afternoon (Sunday 10th November), they both start at 3.00pm at the aforementioned locations. Lasting approx half an hour, there will be an opportunity for teas and coffees afterwards, courtesy of Blantyre Community Council.
