Here’s a nice wee story to get the weekend off to a great start! A tale of honesty and kindness.
One of our readers, last night, accidentally put an unopened parcel on top of her car last night and unfortunately drove off forgetting it was there! She soon discovered the parcel was missing and spent some time retracing her route, but the parcel wasn’t to be found. It was intended as a Christmas present and was put up on our readers ‘Blantyre Live Chat’ group for everybody to keep an eye out.
Thankfully, a Good Samaritan was found, in the form of local man John McManus, who when he found the undamaged parcel whilst out dog walking, was kind enough to extend his dog walking and hand deliver it back to the reader. As she was out, he didn’t leave it lying around, but instead made sure it was safely with a neighbour. As such, the parcel is back with the owner this morning..
Well done John! Appreciate there are many honest people in Blantyre who could have done the same, but when stories like this crop up restoring faith in humanity, such kindness always needs called out and celebrated. You sir, are a gent.
