Tree Lights Are On

After a bit of a delay, (and a wild rumour that there were actually no lights on Blantyre’s trees this year!), we’re pleased to say the Christmas lights in this town are now all on!

Last year High Blantyre’s tree snapped at the base after a sudden storm and wasn’t replaced. Hopefully there are no winds inbound this festive season! Blantyre is the only town in Lanarkshire where the council put up two trees, recognising the main thoroughfares at High Blantyre and Glasgow Road.

The Christmas tree at High Blantyre looks a wee bit different this year. Though slightly narrower than usual, the lights are now warm white, rather than multicoloured. A wee change, which looks pleasant, festive and orderly. All is well.
