Incident at Blantyre Ferme Road

A little follow up on news posted early afternoon on our Live Chat page. A vehicle has gone through the wall at Haughhead Bridge at the end of Blantyre Ferme Road.

The accident happened around 1.30pm this afternoon, Saturday 30th November with reports of a person having to be removed from the vehicle, after it was left hanging over a height.

On eye witness told Blantyre Telegraph, “I saw this. The person was still trapped when I passed, as it had only just happened.”

Another messaged us, “Beat to avoid the area completely as a car has just gone through the wall near the bridge”.

Emergency Services responded including police, fire engines and ambulance. The condition of the person(s) involved is unknown at this time. We hope those involved are ok.

As always, with road accidents and no official statement yet by authorities, we have chosen not to post shared pictures.
