Around 8.25pm on Wednesday, 15 January, 2025, we were called to a report of a woman seriously injured within a house in Gilmour Drive, Hamilton.
Emergency services attended and a 78-year-old woman was pronounced dead.
The death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will be carried out.
Officers remain at the scene and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.
A 49-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with assault.
Enquiries are ongoing.
