A massive well done is offered to basketball team, Caledonia Gladiators.
The local team made history yesterday, Sunday 26th January by becoming the first ever Scottish professional women’s basketball team to win a National final (Super League Basketball Trophy). The team is owned by Alison and Steve Timoney.
Lisa Palombo, the Head of Pro teams and Head of Community at Caledonia Gladiators told Blantyre Telegraph, “Every week we give away 100 free tickets to school communities. Many Blantyre and South Lanarkshire families have been up at Playsport in East Kilbride to enjoy the game day experience as a result.”
The Gladiators showed their fighting spirit to take down a strong Oaklands team in front of their family and fans. The Trophy will take its rightful place at Playsport, and these Caledonia Gladiators have craved their names in the history books.
