Train Service Disruptions: Dalmuir to Larkhall Update

Train services between Dalmuir and Larkhall are currently cancelled or terminated at with expiation of starting back from Rutherglen. For us Blantyre folks and stations to our east, it means trains are off.

According to JourneyCheck https://www.journeycheck.com/scotrail/route disruption is expected until the end of Tuesday 28th January.

The extensive damage caused by Storm Éowyn resulted in around 500 individual incidents across the network. Network Rail have been working flat out since Friday to check routes for damage, and to carry out repair work.

These include more than 120 trees on tracks, damaged overhead wires, power supply failures, other objects on the line, and more. Here are some photos affecting the tracks into Blantyre.

Most tracks have now reopened throughout Lanarkshire otherwise and Scotrail are operating a normal service on most other routes. Please check the ScotRail website and app for the most up-to-date information when planning your travel.
