With drivers in South Lanarkshire who park up on pavements now facing a £100 fine, its worth a reminder that this isn’t just a empty promise from authorities, the rule is being enforced and wardens have already visited Blantyre.
Residents in Coatshill and the Village yesterday, Thursday 30th January messaged Telegraph to say wardens were out in these areas of Blantyre and were clearly issuing notices.
However some people took to Social media angered by the new arrangements saying forcing people to park elsewhere or fully on already narrow roads, compromises their security and the safety of others.
The new rules are designed to protect pedestrians, especially people in wheelchairs and those pushing buggies, who could be forced onto the road by vehicles on the pavement. It’s thought, warning notices were handed out initially as drivers adjust to the changes. Parking fines in South Lanarkshire are £100.
Have your say. Have YOU noticed anybody enforcing this yet?
