Well done to Blantyre woman Gillian Reddiex who took to the skies recently to abseil down the Falkirk Wheel in the name of charity!
Gillian (48) a nurse at Erskine Veterans Charity was accompanied by 77-year-old Glasgow woman Sandie Gray, with the pair successfully abseiling down the 100 foot height, raising a combined total of more than £500 for the good cause.
Erskine House where the charity is based has direct links to Blantyre, being the former home of Lord Blantyre in the 19th Century. Now a hospital and place of care for military veterans, Erskine chief executive Wing Commander Ian Cumming MBE said: “We are incredibly grateful to Gillian, Sandie and all those who took on the Falkirk Wheel abseil to support our veterans.
“Their bravery and dedication help ensure that we can continue providing the highest level of care to those who have served our country. Every penny raised makes a real difference in the lives of our veterans, and we couldn’t do it without the support of amazing fundraisers like them.”
Well done brave ladies!
