Climate Action takes Centre Stage

Local communities across South Lanarkshire are coming together to inspire positive change and work together to protect the planet at a local Climate Action Festival.

This family-friendly festival will feature hands-on activities, cooking demonstrations and sustainability workshops that aim to empower residents to take climate action into their own hands. The festival will conclude with a huge, free family Fun Day at Glenlee Primary School on Saturday 12th April from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

Organised by Community Links (South Lanarkshire), the festival is part of a growing movement to inspire local solutions to a global issue – climate change. Focusing on community-led action, their aim is to show that climate action is as easy as reducing food waste or repairing household items.

Morag Pinion, Chief Officer at Community Links, commented:

“Community Links Climate Action Festival is an exciting initiative to inspire change, showcase success, and engage local communities in meaningful climate action.

Over six days of vibrant events, we’ll highlight innovative projects, share practical solutions, provide learning opportunities, and celebrate the power of working together to protect our planet.

By raising awareness, inspiring action, and bringing people together in a fun and interactive way, we can take real steps toward a more sustainable future, and show that communities can play a small but vital role in this global challenge.”

You can get involved from Monday 7th – Saturday 12th April. Full details of all events can be found on the Community Links website: http://www.communitylinkssl.com
