A fantastic Sportsman’s dinner took place at Blantyre Miners Welfare on Friday 11th April which was a tremendous success!
Celtic legend John Hartson and Rangers star Derek Ferguson were guests of honour, the whole event compered by Des McKeown. The purpose of the night was to raise money to buy life saving defibrillators for the local community…and thanks to the generosity of all attending, the night did not disappoint.
A whopping sum of £7,700 was raised, which will buy 4 new defibrillators. Even better though….the final total was FIVE defibrillators as a further one was donated very generously from Babcock.
Well done to everybody involved. What a fantastic achievement!
