Blantyreferme Roundabout Update

Another update on the Blantyreferme roadworks.

Construction work is now nearing completion on the new roundabout at the junction of Blantyre Farm Road and Calder Road. The new roundabout junction is taking shape, kerbing now formed, though the road to Newton continues to remain closed for now.

Works are still due to be complete by 20th July at which point the road is expected to re-open fully to traffic, including the route westwards at Calder Road. 3 weeks to go , folks! Contractors are now attending to landscaping and lighting works are underway. The project still requires surfacing reinstatements.

However, there will be a further 4 day road closure in August (but overnight only from 10pm until 6am) on 11th August whilst the rest of Blantyre Farm Road gets anti skid surfacing and road marking renewals.

It’s been a LONG time closed so we’re sure the re-opening of the road will be welcome by many people.

  1. Can you have a look at the roundabout at the top of Newton Brae and Farmtrack next as it only a painted marking meaning the majority of drivers drive over it or undercut .
