We’ve been absolutely swamped with emails and messages this evening from concerned parents after the news broke that Crossbasket Nursery in High Blantyre is facing potential permanent closure.
The nursery built 11 years ago in the grounds of Crossbasket estate has issued parents emails and letters today informing them of the potential closure of the nursery and giving them one month’s notice. It’s left parents and carers scrambling at a difficult time of year to find alternative childcare.
Crossbasket Nursery has entered a formal period of consultation to determine its potential permanent closure with owners citing personal reasons behind the decision.
This has clearly been a big shock for the community. Should you have any questions or need support, please do not hesitate to contact the nursery on their dedicated line for enquiries: parentscbnursery@gmail.com
This news comes very quickly following the recent closure of another nursery in Blantyre. If the closure occurs, it’s unknown what the building would be used for. We have approached Crossbasket for an official statement. Have YOUR family been affected by this news?
Meantime, for parents and guardians, here are some questions and answers issued by Crossbasket staff:
