UK Flights Slowly Resuming

Flights are now slowly resuming from UK airports after all departures were delayed from 4.30pm by an air traffic control issue.

National Air Traffic Services (NATS) says the problem is now resolved, but delays and cancellations are still being reported across the country. In a statement, NATS says it is working with affected airlines and airports “to clear the backlog safely” and apologises to all those affected.

As of 17:30 BST, 45 departures from the UK had been cancelled, plus 35 arrivals. However, disruption from the technical glitch at air traffic control isn’t over yet, as EasyJet is warning its customers. Best to check with the airline before you travel.

Government is ‘working closely’ with air traffic control to understand cause of issue.
