A bit more about today’s busy traffic. Sadly, a man has died today after being hit by an HGV on the M8.
The crash happened between Junction 5 Shotts and Junction 6 Newhouse on the busy Glasgow to Edinburgh main road at about 12:40 early today,Thursday 28th August.
Emergency services attended promptly but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been made aware.
Both carriageways of the motorway were closed during the incident but reopened at 8pm this evening. Inquiries are ongoing. Our thoughts are with the mans family at this time.
