Drivers are being warned of major resurfacing works closing the A749 Glasgow Road southbound between Greenlees Road and Stewartfield Way roundabout this weekend. Diversions are in place until Sunday evening.
The A749 Glasgow Road southbound in East Kilbride will be closed from B759 Greenlees Road to the Stewartfield Way roundabout from 07:00 Sat 20 Sept to 23:59 Sun 21 Sept 2025 for resurfacing. First Bus services 18/18A/N18/21 are diverting during the closure.
South Lanarkshire Council advises motorists to plan extra time for their journeys, especially those travelling towards East Kilbride shopping centre or connecting to the M74.
