Councillors have this week approved extensive plans for a new neighbourhood hall and retail development at nearby Newton.
Under planning submission P/25/0988, the development has now been approved and will include retail units for classes 1a, 3 and hot food). Local residents have been looking for further facilities and shops in this area for a few years, more so latterly with the growing number of homes.
The new buildings to serve the local community will be located on land 100m northeast of Westburn Road, Cambuslang. Representation submitted to the planning portal overwhelmingly supported the proposals.
There are no timescales set out yet for construction commencing.
