Stargazers across Lanarkshire were treated to a wonderful display of the Northern Lights.
The Aurora could be seen as far south as England and lit up the skies across central Scotland during the middle of the night. This excellent photo taken by Shirley Ann King in Strathaven shows what could be seen by the naked eye.
