Four weeks of lane closures on the A725 East Kilbride Expressway is coming soon.
Works will take place overnight between 10pm and 6am from 24th November right through until 19th December 2025 as SP Energy Networks upgrade existing electrical infrastructure. Traffic management will be in place as a series of lane closures will be set up between High Blantyre’s junction and the Whirlies Roundabout in East Kilbride.
The sliproad at Douglas Street will be fully closed on 24th November and at Hamilton Road for 6 nights from 25th to 30th November.
Craig Morton, Engineering and Deployment Lead at SP Energy Networks, said: “Upgrading our network along the East Kilbride Expressway is an important step in delivering a reliable, future-ready electricity supply that supports the introduction of more green tech – such as electric car chargers and solar panels in our communities.”
“We’re undertaking the work overnight to minimise disruption and would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience as we complete these essential upgrades to provide a more resilient power supply for East Kilbride and the surrounding area.”
We’ll post reminders nearer the time.
